Current Position
Director of the Wound Treatment and Research Center, Division of Trauma, Department of Surgery
Achievements: The Wound Clinic was newly implemented in May 2001 and opened July 2001 and is now a full time operation offering the following services.
Out-patient treatment of chronic wounds including but not limited to diabetic, venous, vasculitic pressure and recalcitrant ulcers.
In-patient consulting on request for any problematic wounds
Surgery (foot and ankle only) related to chronic wounds.
Research on Tissue and Wound Repair Educational services related to chronic wounds, tissue and wound repair, and associated problems.
The UCSD Wound Treatment Center is recognized nationally and internationally for its clinical accomplishments and education related to the treatment of chronic wounds, tissue repair, and wound healing. Visitors to the clinic have included researchers and professors from across the United States, Europe, and Europe. The Wound Treatment and Research Center is gaining on-going recognition in the field of wound repair.
Prior to the arrival of Dr. Mulder, the wound clinic was a one day a week clinic seeing from 5-10 patients per clinic day. The wound clinic now schedules up to 30 patients a day.
