Beate Kuppers, born  in Germany, had several working experiences in the health sector before studying Medicine in Pisa, Italy. She graduated cum laude in1992. For three years, following graduation, she worked for the territorial Medical Emergency System. In 1995 she began her Specialist Training in Anesthesia  at the University of Florence where she graduated cum laude in 1999.

Since December 1999 she is working as anesthesiologist at the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Pisana. From 1999 to 2006 providing anesthesia for orthopaedic, gynaecologic and obstetric surgery she acquires specific skills in loco-regional anesthesia. Her special interest are continuous nerve block techniques for postoperative pain control.

From 2006 until now she is working mainly for the plastic surgery department and the Diabetic Foot Team . In this context she involved in the perioperative management of diabetic foot patients ranging from anestesiologic assistance for percutaneous revascularization, anesthesia for diabetic foot surgery and pain therapy for diabetic foot patients.

She participated in numerous national and international congresses as invited speaker or presenting short communications and posters about locoregional anesthesia and pain therapy.
