Aims & Follow up services

 

The Pisa International Diabetic Foot Courses aim to:

 

• Increase the knowledge and operative skills in the management of the diabetic foot.
• Support the establishment of multidisciplinary diabetic foot clinics or departments based on the recommendations of the International Consensus Document.
• Facilitate international consensus on structure of treatment of the diabetic foot. Lectures will be in agreement with the International Consensus on the Diabetic Foot & Practical Guidelines on the Management and Prevention of the Diabetic Foot
  

Follow up services:

• Networking activities: An online community has been established for previous course participants. This comminity site will be updated with news and developments within the area by the secretariat. This also enables participants to share and spread information after the course has ended.

• Expertise knowledge: Professor Alberto Piaggesi and members of the faculty will answer questions through the online community after the course.
• Staff from the Diabetic Foot Section of the Pisa University Hospital offers external teaching and consultancy in connection with establishment of diabetic foot clinics.
